Dr. Atman Desai, a member of AAAV did online presentation on ‘Collaborations of Astronomy Clubs of India in the virtual world at International Global Hands-on Universe Conference 2024 on 23rd September 2025. Global Hands-On Universe (GHOU) is an educational program that enables students to investigate the Universe while applying tools and concepts from science, maths, and technology.
GHOU’s main objective is to promote a deeper understanding, based on evidence, of our place in the Cosmos. The paper highlighted the importance of Astronomy clubs virtually. Virtual presence of Astronomy Clubs is important for sharing observational data on astronomy, communication of scientists across globe and increase astronomy outreach. Due to this sharing, the world fraternity of astronomers can know the observation reports of astronomers (amateur and professional), events and activities organized by astronomers, research paper sharing and astronomy popularization programmes done across globe.
