About AAAV

From Comet Hale-Bopp to the Messier Marathon — 30 years of exploring the universe together.

Who We Are

India's Pioneering Community Astronomy Club

The Amateur Astronomers Association of Vadodara (AAAV) was established in 1996 with a clear mission: to popularise astronomy and conduct scientific research in Vadodara and beyond.

What began as a small group of sky-gazing enthusiasts has grown into one of India’s most active and scientifically productive amateur astronomy clubs, with 10 dedicated observation modules contributing data to international organisations.

From logging Comet Hale-Bopp in 1996 to observing Venus Transit, Solar Maximum/Minimum cycles, and counting over 1,000 individual meteors — AAAV has been at the forefront of community-driven astronomy for nearly three decades.
